Performed the analysis and design of a workflow management system based on Documentum to integrate workflows between two departments. Developed scenarios for document management, version control, workflow creation, and user interface customization. Investigated Documentum-based Web services for document delivery and management.
Introduced the business potential of the World-Wide Web (WWW) to top management and peers as part of a major re-engineering initiative to reduce time-for-approval of New Drug Applications (NDAs). Promoted the use of Web servers to disseminate corporate information across major R&D centers in the US and Europe. Successfully prototyped a wide area document delivery system containing a multimedia repository of drug development knowledge and experience using WWW, Mosaic, CGI, and HTML. Evaluated and recommended the use of state-of-the-art full-text retrieval systems and SGML-based products to store, retrieve, and deliver large volumes of scientific text and images.
Established a Global Team Room for international project teams to collaborate effectively using groupware products such as LiveWorks’ MeetingBoard and Fujitsu’s Desktop Conferencing System. Participated in the audit of the software house developing TRIP, a full-text retrieval system.
